He will go to Brule Wisconsin to meet President Coolidge before assuming as chairman of the Republican National Committee. James G Good and W A Newton named to western campaign roles. Kinmer's seven member orchestra took the $10 top prize with popular selections drawing a large crowd at the Rex theatre. The Burkhardt brothers and sisters claimed second prize of $5. Lawrence Hughes, an 18 year old pianist, also featured on the program along with Edward and Max Harvey, Joan Groves, Evelyn Smith, and the Webb sisters. The next Rex amateur night is slated for about two weeks hence with DeWitt Bracken and Mrs J Jackson noted among visitors.
From Pittsburgh June 30 three men Maley El Rubino and Joseph Torta rice of Elizabeth borough were arrested and held without bail on felonious use of explosives charges in connection with bombings of two barber shops in the borough over the last three months. Authorities say the men admitted they were hired to do the bombings and that Keeslin owned the only American tar bermop in the borough.
City Council to consider Bill No 51 on third reading paving way for change in engineering department personnel. Salary fixed at 3800 yearly plus five percent for contract work. Reports say City Engineer Dickson may stay at head. Erie firm also filed application. Next meeting expected decisive action on personnel and city finances.
