Corry High School GradUates Reunite for Alumni Banquet
Corry High School graduates gathered for their annual reunion at the Emmanuel church hall. About 161 banquets were sold, tables filled to capacity, with decoration by church ladies and a well served banquet. Afterward a lodge room program featured songs, addresses, and reminiscences. Officers elected for the next year included President K. B. Titus and Vice President Olin W. Bracken.

Alexander Maines Sr died suddenly after a prayer meeting at the United Brethren church. He was born May 14 1847 in Bowmore Scotland and later became superintendent at Carnegie Steel before starting McInnes Steel Company in Corry. Survived by wife and several children. funeral plans to be announced.

Utlea boy dies after match fire near Franklin
In Utlea, ten miles from Franklin, four year old Fred Dickey son of W A Dickey died after his blouse caught fire while playing with matches with a friend. His grandmother Mrs Wil Num Lee smothered the flames with her apron but he suffered burns to the head chest and abdomen and died early Friday. Weather tonight and Friday expected partly cloudy and cooler.

Steel for Building Is Enroute to City
Mr H W Ewing of McCarthy Construction Co arrived from Philadelphia to oversee the Federal building project. He said three cars of steel shipped have been delayed but should arrive within a day or two, allowing gas fixtures to proceed and progress to resume after a pause caused by material shortages. Mr Maddocks is returning to Lancaster due to his wife’s illness, and Ewing will remain here indefinitely though the steel delay impacted work for weeks.
