Graduation Night at Corry High School Completes Forty fifth Commencement

Twenty graduates received diplomas at Corry High School in a well attended Forty fifth Commencement. The program featured Elizabeth Lyons singing Dreams and Frank O Day discussing radio development. Speakers highlighted industrial progress, international peace, Monroe Doctrine, and value of education for women. The class list includes Warren Beardsles Brooks Carrier Curtis Drought Haight Hammond Loveland Lyons Morris Murray O Day Thomas Wells Wilcox. The Juniors staged clever electrical insignia displays as decor honors.

Fred Osborne of Honesdale Pa a well known resident died after being struck by Erie Railroad fast train No 4 in Meadville yards at about four this morning He was 26 years old and died within a half hour after rapid removal to Spencer Hospital

Tannery Worker Dies Suddenly at Mill Site

Herman Miller aged 65 collapsed at Howard's tannery in the beam house this afternoon and died. He had worked at the tannery for years and residents report he appeared in usual health before colleagues found him. Physicians declared death likely from heart failure and Alexander's ambulance responded.

Gunboat Tampico Sunk in Topolobampo Battle

United Press reports the Tampico, the rebel Constitutionalist gunboat, sank after a clash with the federal Gerrera. Each ship had about a hundred crew. Tampico’s officers reportedly committed suicide as defeat loomed while U S fleet men rescued survivors. lack of ammunition hampered the rebel craft.
