The Corry Art Club announces summer activities including participation in the Warren Art League festival at East Fifth Street and a Corry City Park show tied to the annual music concert. Members of the Corry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary announce a Summer Garden Card Party on June 28 at the George Hagger home on R D 4. Tickets go to fundraiser seating with a 1 PM start and dessert before card play. A shuttle from the YMCA will transport attendees due to limited parking.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the McCray Cemetery Association held its fifteenth annual tea with eighteen members present. Mrs. Merrill McCray led the business meeting and a Memorial Day luncheon fundraiser for the Cemetery Association was approved. Officers elected: President Mrs Joseph McCray Vice President Mrs Robert Burrows Secretary Mrs Merle McCray Treasurer Mrs Howard Blakeslee. Prizes were awarded to several members and Iris and peony bouquets decorated tables. Refreshments were served.
The Ladies Bridge and Golf Association of Union City Country Club held its weekly bridge game in the club rooms Wednesday afternoon. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Loring Thorne and Mrs. William Pearson. All members and their guests are welcome or anyone interested in becoming a member is asked to join.
Temperatures plunged across the region with Philadelphia hitting a new June 14 record low of 48 degrees, surpassing the 1933 52 degree previous. Harrisburg also logged a June 14 record low at 49 degrees while Philipsburg recorded 39 degrees, the state’s lowest.
Mrs Jennie Bisbee announces new daily noon luncheon and dinner service at the club. Sessions begin at 1 pm in the club rooms.

Miss Jeanie Sayle leads the page and Sayle end committee. Door prizes are planned and advance tickets are available from Grange members to support the building fund.
