Budget Vote May Come Today In Pennsylvania

Deadly heat wave grips wide region with deaths

Naked starving children found in Brooklyn apartment

Six naked starving children aged four weeks to six years were found in a filthy Canarsie apartment. They were dehydrated and exposed. their father reportedly died two weeks earlier and the mother disappeared. Police say the mother Brenda Jordan collected a $50 welfare payment before vanishing. The youngsters, three boys and three girls, were placed with foster families after incident. The apartment was overrun by cockroaches and the children were soiled.

Four Jailed In Service Station Theft In Venango County

Four Warren residents were arrested by Corry state police after an alleged theft at Cherry Hill Service station in Cherrytree Township Venango County. Larry Mallory 21 Wilson Burgess 20 Jeannette Can pana 19 and Lillian Hayman 18 faced theft and conspiracy charges. They were arraigned before a district magistrate and jailed on 5000 bonds each for theft and Titusville department charges. The Titusville charges involve theft by deception. The women are in Crawford County Jail and the men in Venango County Jail.
