Strike Aims to Idle 48000 Rail Workers on Two Lines

Commissioner and allies fined for migratory game law violation

Erie County Commissioner William C. Hill Jr and two men were fined $50 each after pleading guilty to shooting at migratory coots from a moving boat in Presque Isle Bay on October 10. U S Magistrate Gabriel Bifulko oversaw the plea, with Hill insisting their innocence after the hearing and stating they altered their plea when expected defense testimony did not appear.

Mom and Daughter Hurt In One Car Crash

A Waterford woman Roberta Sorenson 43 was admitted to Corry Memorial Hospital for lacerations after a one car crash on Messinger road near Beaverdam at 3 45 p m yesterday. Her daughter Judy a passenger was treated and released. State Police said Sorenson was westbound at high speed when she lost control left the road went through a field and over an embankment coming to rest on another road. Car damages were about 900 dollars.
