Columbus Man Killed In Crash In Harmony New York

A Columbus man William Stockton aged 39 to 40 was killed in a two car crash in Harmony Chautauqua County at 9 last night. A Corry man passenger Vincent Dugan was slightly injured. Driver Roger Lane of Chautauqua was unhurt. Stockton owned several meat businesses and was active in local clubs. Friends may call at Bracken Funeral Home with arrangements to be announced.

Shapp Proposes No-Fault Insurance Plan for Pennsylvania

Harrisburg AP Gov Shapp proposes a no fault motorist insurance plan with Insurance Commissioner Denenberg claiming a guaranteed 10 percent premium cut. Denenberg says the plan would be consumer oriented and long overdue and would be introduced in the legislature soon.

Drop Toll In Calls From Wattsburg

General Telephone announced plans to abolish the Phillipsville central office and route nearby calls via Wattsburg switching center. Starting September 19, extended area service will remove long distance charges between Phillipsville and Wattsburg and provide Phillipsville residents new telephone numbers with the new directory. A tariff revision was filed with the Public Utility Commission.

A Portage County judge overruled motions to quash indictments against 20 of 25 people arrested during May 1970 campus disturbances at Lent State University. The indictments follow arrests on May 4 1970 the day four Kent State students were killed and nine wounded in an antiwar confrontation with the Ohio National Guard. Two indicted suspects are unlocated and three defense plans did not seek dismissal.

Damage Heavy Three Injured In Car Crashes Over Weekend

Three car crashes over the weekend left minor injuries and heavy damage. James R Reynolds 20 of Corry failed to stop at a stop sign causing a collision with James Beach 24 of Titusville then their cars hit a third auto driven by Thomas Roden 18 of Corry. Linda Beach 24 and Melanie Beach 4 were treated and released at Titusville Hospital. A second two car crash near Lincolnville caused no injuries but $450 damage. A single car crash near Union City sent Erleman and family to hospital with injuries. The Frohmans Daniel 30 Carol 28 Virginia 6 and Stevens 31 Erie were involved. the Frohmans are reported in satisfactory condition with rib injuries and lacerations.
