Union City starts first golf course phase with playground plan
Union City area residents push a 145 acre recreation park project featuring a public opening of the first nine holes of an 18 hole golf course next spring. The site along Route 8 will include picnics fishing tennis archery and a large pond serving water and fishing needs. A local corporation formed four years ago leads the effort with Lynn Gates as president and stock sold to about 100 residents. Plans call for additional holes to be added yearly until the full 18 are in operation.
