K Lindberg won the state skeet title at Huntingdon amid fierce competition. Lindberg led with high scores, while Kuhns of Watertore and Zigwie of Indians fought for runner up. The event added multiple trophies as Lindberg and Futins joined in top finishes and women collected several awards.
Joseph Wojtowicz, 67, of Spartansburg, escaped injury when his jeep plunged through guard rails on the Garland Tidiante road five miles from Garland. The vehicle overturned down a hill, pinning him briefly under the wreck. He crawled free, was taken to Tituevale Hospital with minor injuries and outward burns, and faces several days off work. The jeep was demolished. relatives reported he remained dazed but capable of leaving the scene.

Mrs Maria Zafiropilos, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Zafrapy, of Molt Street, Tina, was appointed assistant to Bumber H Sitchter, professor of economics at Flavia University. An honor student graduate of Vase College in 1950, she recently joined the Clhikene National Banc here. The appointment begins at Harvard University in September.

A panel of judges will select the queen July 27 at the potato festival concluding in Potala City, Coudersport. Miller is a Bluffton College junior, currently studying there. The winner will reign over various events including Cory's potato festival during the coming year.
Lonie Beardsley, 89, of 21434 West Main Street, was fined 40 dollars plus costs and ordered held for trial on a driving charge. He received 90 days in Erie County jail after appearing before Judge Burton Lathh, with bail set at 500 dollars. Beardsley was arrested after his car smashed through Erie Rail Road gates at 745 p.m. and narrowly missed employees on the platform. He pleaded guilty to the driving charge and was cited for driving without a license. Police pursued him after the crash, finally apprehending him at West Washington Street and Mead Avenue after a lengthy chase.
President Truman will fly over the Missouri Kansas flood area aboard the Independence tomorrow around 11 a.m. EST. He will be accompanied by Mrs. Truman and their daughter Margaret and return the same day. The White House said the press plane will follow to view the full scene as he surveys the flood-stricken region near Manhattan Kansas.
