Richard Septers won a five year board seat, Haymond Wansink filled the remaining term, and a six member board expansion was approved for next summer.

East Springfield youths Glover 18 and Norma Thompson 16 were in a car that drove into a New York Central freight train a mile north of West Springfield. Glover died aboard, Thompson suffered minor injuries and was treated at Brown Memorial Hospital. Engineer George Fineran 53 of Youngstown said the car was moving slowly when struck. Authorities from Erie County and the State Police investigated the crash.
Warren Senator Leroy E. Charman suffered a heart attack today while dining at a hotel in Harrisburg. A spokesman said he received assistance from hotel staff and was transported to his home in Warren by Senator Arthur Blyss after the incident.
John E Love 63 a Corry resident died last night from a heart attack attributed by Coroner Warren W Woot. He had lived in Corry then Erie after 1920s, worked as a project engineer for the State Highway Department, and earlier helped found the Love construction company with his father and uncle. He was a longtime member of local organizations and leaves a wife Delly Blair Love and son John W Love. Funeral arrangements at Tranvis V Kloeder Funeral Home in Erie with service pending.
Charles Bud Bracken of Worth Center receives recall to Camp Kilmer for processing and exam on July 24, after four years as vice president of Citizens National Bank. His brother Olin Jr. is with U. S. forces in Japan. Both sons of Mr. and Mrs. Ol ity Bracken Sr.

A five month old Wattsburg infant died after choking this morning. Deputy Coroner L. Musser of Union City investigated as parents rushed the child to Stem Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The baby, Joseph Conrad Blasco, was reportedly vomiting before choking. firemen aided en route but the child died before arrival. Coroner withheld the death certificate pending parental consultation.
William Mowrey, operator of Mowrey's greenhouse on Wayne Street, has leased the former Floradora Flower Shop at 124 North Center Street from W and Phillips. The interior will be redecorated as Walila and the exterior repainted. The shop will stock Wayne-sized site floral goods, imported flowers, and coral products, opening tentatively August 1. The Legion campaign will involve Edward G. Petrills and the Elmer G. Garrier Post, with state and county campaign planning amid staffing needs.
Pittsburgh July 11 Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania announced its new four million dollar Hissing System today allowing direct long distance calls from Pittsburgh to any point in the United States. The system was unveiled before about 150 readers and civil citizens at a public house celebration.
