City welcomes new Pennsylvania Electric Co office quarters
Mercury rose, drawing hundreds to the North Center street location of the Pennsylvania Electric Company for an opening event Saturday evening. Free ice cream and coffee were offered as the modern, brightly lit offices drew crowds and boosted local trade. Automobiles filled the streets as residents visited shops, while banners reading Al Smith for President appeared on passing tourist cars. Repairs on East Columbus Avenue improve rides, and railroad work near Spring Creek spurs reports of double-tracking Renovo division.
