The Board of Education plans a Wednesday evening session to open bids for heating system replacement and new fire escapes at the Eaton High School Auditorium. The overall project exceeds 10,000 and includes remodeling the old Hatch building to add classrooms for shop course expansion alongside routine business.
Mr H R Halfast and son Albert were injured when their car left the road three miles west of Pittsfield at 11 30 Sunday. The car struck a concrete culvert and overturned. Mrs Halfast and Betty Jean were thrown from the vehicle and shaken. Albert suffered a leg fracture and lacerations while the son’s head and eye injuries were noted. Lois and the other child escaped unhurt. The family, from Hast Wayne Street, were en route to Grand Valley.
The War Department was advised that Emilia Carranza, who recently flew from Mexico to the United States, plans to start at Roosevelt Field, New York, this evening for a non stop flight to Mexico City.

Mrs. Mary Duncan of Glassport in serious condition after a collision between a Hixson Corry car and an approaching Chevrolet on the Greenville to Sharon route. The Hixson car lost a wheel and was badly damaged. occupants of the other vehicle and two other drivers were shaken and injured.
United Press reports pilots expect the hardest day as the national air tour departs for Marfa Texas and El Paso amid high heat and rough terrain. Army officers join to discuss emergency signals while officials forecast no serious issues with potential altitude hazards. The tour plans a 30 P M stop at Marfa after a 850 mile leg from San Antonio before continuing to El Paso. Mr and Mrs Swift return to Chicago after a long journey from Miami to Boston and pass Read Filling Station on West Smith Street.
