Robert Mill, 25, of Columbus, recently detained by federal authorities on a charge of sending obscene literature via railway express, was expected to waive a hearing in Erie. He was scheduled for a U S Commissioner Enoch Filer hearing at 1:30 p m, but no arraignment had occurred by 2:15, suggesting a waiver. Mercer Pa Jan 25 Matthew Loritz 14 of Pittsburgh held without bail for the March grand jury after pleading guilty to larceny. He was arrested in Pittsburgh for questioning in connection with the kidnapping of Carl Swint who was forced at gunpoint to drive his captors to Mercer last week.
NORRISTOWN Pa Jan 25 A $100,000 fire wrecked the refractory brick plant of E LaVino Go at Plymouth Meeting destroying two storage silos the ore grinding plant and a wash house. Volunteer fireman Walter Jotmrof 29 sustained injuries while battling the blaze.

New York January 25 Rescue vessels enter New York harbor with 117 Mohawk survivors and report one dead plus 46 either dead or missing from the Mohawk disaster off the New Jersey coast. Survivors praise ship officers and endure zero temperatures amid the collision with the Talisman in frigid water.
The Coast Guard reported recovering nine bodies at sea near the Mohawk disaster site. Four empty lifeboats were seen adrift, with the location not disclosed. The U S Coast Guard and Southern Air Station relayed the findings to authorities.
A Mohawk passenger steamship traveling at speed collided off Sea Girt around 9 20 p m with the Talisman causing the Mohawk to sink and 22 rescued by the Lamony United Fruit ship and Algonquin lifeboats. Missing include five women and Prof H F Cleland of Williams College.
