Postmaster General Arthur Sumnerfield ordered a deferment of the five cent short paid mail penalty due to Congressional action to abolish the charge. General George C. Marshall remains in seclusion at Womack Army Hospital with his condition reported satisfactory after a slight stroke. President Eisenhower sent get well wishes, and Mrs Marshall has a private room nearby while he reads the messages.
