FBI in Detroit recovered documents valued over 500000 including presidential letters from a collection stolen from the National Archives in 1962. Robert Bradford Murphy and Elizabeth Murphy are charged with interstate transportation of stolen property and theft of government property. Monroe letters from 1818 to 1820 era are among the originals. The Murphys were arrested on a Pensacola Florida warrant for interstate telephone and telegraph fraud. Mrs Murphy bonded at 10000 while Robert is held on 25000. Indictments for wire and mail fraud in several states are pending.
A Viet Nam era Bab fighter crashed during a test flight near Saigon killing two U.S. Air Force officers. Authorities have not yet identified the victims and are investigating the crash details.

Atty. Henry Wade stated after receiving a two volume Dallas police report on Jack Ruby and the Oswald slaying that there is no evidence of collusion between Ruby and any police department member. He noted one volume could aid Ruby’s murder trial and the other covers security measures in effect at the time.
Rep. Howard Baker, 61, a Republican congressman from Tennessee's district, died today in Knoxville. The cause of death was not immediately ascertained.
