Increase FHA Funds To Hike Rural Building
Washington officials announce a fiscal 1972 rise in the Farmers Home Administration budget to 1.47 billion dollars to expand rural housing. The boost aims to raise mortgage funds, lower commercial rates, and attract private lenders for new homes for low and moderate income rural families. Buffalo residents will soon reach 911 without paying at outdoor pay telephones, New York Telephone Co. says.

Car Kills Elderly Warren Man
Warren an elderly resident, Clyde M. Harmon, 74, died from injuries after being struck by a car while crossing a road south of Warren. He died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday at Warren General Hospital after being taken there earlier. Kenneth Burford, 18, of Russell drove the southbound car that struck him, carrying Harmon about 70 feet before he fell onto the west berm. The crash, occurring at 7 p.m., is under investigation by Trooper James Hawk of the State Police.

Erie Tot Dies After Fall On Ice
A year old boy died at Hamot Hospital after slipping on the icy Presque Isle shoreline in Erie. Eric Mooney, son of Mr and Mrs Ben Mooney, was found unconscious by his jogger father near Beach 10 and the lighthouse area. He died at 2 55 a m after an autopsy was ordered.
