SAN FRANCISCO RP Gov Edmund G Brown grants a 60 day reprieve for Daryl Chessman prompting protests in Sacramento where lawmakers fear shifting the issue to them and planning a March special session alongside budget talks. Adm Arleigh A Burke says the first Polaris submarine will conduct its initial complete underwater test shot in late spring or summer this year. By year end the chief of naval operations expects two atom powered subs on duty at sea, each armed with 16 Polaris ballistic missiles. Burke's sealed Senate testimony was released Friday in censored form.
