Income Tax Deductions and Deductible Taxes Review

Tax rules cover what is deductible against federal income tax. Real estate and personal property taxes paid in 1930 are deductible, while assessments for permanent improvements like streets and sidewalks are not. Federal income tax itself is not deductible, but three state income taxes may be deducted. Customs duties, internal revenue taxes paid on business inputs, and certain other taxes are deductible if not capitalized. Employment taxes, unemployment taxes classified as taxes, and related employer credits may be deductible. some Social Security excise taxes are deductible for employers but not for employees. State and local license or franchise taxes, automobile licenses, and certain business-related fees may be deductible as taxes rather than business expenses. Federal estate and state inheritance taxes are not deductible. The text contains garbled phrases and incomplete items.
