Independence Ladies Club of State Line honored Mrs Wilbur Camp at a meeting hosted by Mrs Lawrence Dunnewold. Members enjoyed luncheon, gifted crystal, and hemmed towels for the Community Memorial Hospital. Next meeting date to be announced.
Mrs J B Howe and families join in wedding events across Erie. Miss Marilyn Huleht wed Robert A Stalbers at St Dukes, attended by relatives from Meadville to Frenchtown. The couple plan Bermuda honeymoon before settling in Mills, Ontario area.
Yesterday at the home of Mr and Mrs G H Bourwall Concord Corners Spartanburg area honored Mr and Mrs Roy Coates on their Golden Wedding Anniversary dated February 14 1902 in Clymer The couple’s daughter Mrs Bourwall and three sons Emery Gerry and Carl and six grandchildren attended with neighbors and friends as a four tier gold decorated cake and refreshments marked the event.
The Curry Grange No. 65 held a regular meeting Saturday with delegates from Columbus and West Spring Creek granges. Worthy Master Mrs. Vernon Humphrey presided as the degree team conferred first and second degrees on members and third and fourth on seven Corry and eight Columbus grangers. Birthdays and anniversaries of that period were celebrated with group singing and solos by Miss Besiries Bensink. Refreshments for about 90 attendees were provided by Mrs. Paul Labowskii and others. The next meeting is set for March Ast.
Mrs. Walter Rath hosted a luncheon for 12 guests on Saturday afternoon at the Hotel Carry honoring Miss Charlotte Rouse. The event featured spring flowers and gifts, with prizes won by Mrs. 2. J. Tobias and Miss Rouse. Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Arthur Young, Mrs. John Ottoway, and Mrs. Lee Owen Gordon of Union City.
A surprise 40th wedding anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Fred Walker was held at their R. D. 4 home on Saturday evening. Hostesses included Mrs. Arthur ODay Mrs. Wayne Fralick Mrs. Glenn Batcock and Mrs. Lawrence Aldriot of Elgin. Guests enjoyed social games and lunch with sandwiches cake and coffee. The couple received several gifts and cards reflecting the milestone.
About 125 couples attended the Elk's dance at the local B P O E hall on Salutday evening with Dutch Press and his Meadville orchestra providing music. An entertain Noor show featured a male quartet a girls duo and a musical imitator during intermission. The first session of Kangaroo Court conducted fines on members lacking beards or mustaches as part of the lodge's 50th anniversary program.
A birthday party Saturday evening honored Hory Lambdy on his 18th birthday. His parents hosted 18 friends and guests from Waitshire. Miss Evelyn Thussett won a prize at the party. A decorated cake soft drinks and candy were served. Harry received many fine gifts from friends.
