Reading workers agreed to a wage cut of 60 cents a ton for puddling and a $25 monthly wage, effective Monday Feb 8. The agreement maintains a noon conditional on market iron trade warrants, with a return to $7 a ton if conditions change, and applies to all departments of the unionized Iron Company.
An old advertisement touts a medicine chest for 25 cents claiming rapid relief for bleeding boils ulcers sores and other conditions with antiseptic ointment. It mentions Thomas Downey and NOR, Amon & Co and promises money back. Also promotes San Cura Soup at 96 cents.
