Accelerated Tax Payments To Be Slowed
Pennsylvania employers will not be required to honor workers requests for accelerated withholding of the 2.3 percent state income tax after January 1. The Revenue Department said about 280,000 employers will be notified. The move follows an earlier order aimed at easing the year end tax burden for taxpayers facing a seven month bill, withholdings for 1972 set to cover 12 months.
