Centralizing DJ Hearings Faces Erie County Hurdles
Erie County district justices and District Attorney Robert H Chase discuss a plan to hold preliminary hearings for misdemeanors and felonies at a single site, likely the Erie County Courthouse. Many justices express concerns about feasibility, logistics, and essential questions awaiting answers. Chase says he laid out ideas and will meet with District Justice Charles Wise after broader state discussions.
