DEI Opinion Calls For Action To Cut Public Apathy On Crime
In an editorial from Harrisburg Patriot the piece argues Pennsylvania’s crime rate per capita is not the worst but public indifference worsens it. It urges modernizing the penal code, expanding policing, improving juvenile services, and boosting public awareness and cooperation with law enforcement.

Theatre Protest Tactics Stir Debate Over Free Speech
The report details a makeshift New Port venue where young Black Arts protesters enact scenes venting hatred of whites. National attention followed after government anti poverty funding fueled the troupe, drawing thousands to thrice weekly outdoor shows. The piece questions whether constitutional protection of speech and assembly should shelter such propaganda, noting harsh contrasts with historic free expression limits.
Memories of Corry Twenty Years Ago Dispatch
Gen Marshall testified that a subordinate, unaware of it, hid code cracking secrets from the Pearl Harbor inquiry. Roosevelt allegedly ordered pre war warnings to await an overt act by Japan. In Corry, Ernest Allen died after a crash on Route 277, his brother Harley hurt, and the Vanderhoffs injured. Junior High debuted a 20 to 16 win under Carl Lindberg. Local bowling featured notables Fred Taylor and others. Deer hunting near Jackson Hill yielded several big bucks. An auto crash near Lagertown injured occupants sparing them. Speck returned from McKean with a 180 pound buck and a bear. Robert Smith discharged after an electric shock incident. Keystone Boosters prepare to have Frost coach younger local players.

What Is The Law on pen names and banking
A person may adopt any name he chooses if no fraud on the rights of others is involved. By statute a person engaged in a business must register the name of his business if it is not his own name. Using a pen name is not engaging in a business. A bank may refuse checks made out to a pen name unless the presenter proves they are the person. The best approach is to open a bank account using the pen name and then cash checks drawn to that name at that bank.
