Four Corry Chamber of Commerce directors were automatically re-elected for three years as nominations closed at 5 p m yesterday. Nominating Committee selected the four candidates Ronald K Willman Ross Bailey A Gordon Wells and Fred Scherzer. Chamber manager Stewart A Long announced the slate. Continued on Page Eight.
Kevin Bensink 12 of North Center street is invited as a guest when a new Cord car is introduced by a Tulsa area company. Glen Pray, president, handcrafts Cords near Tulsa and has engaged with Kevin through months of correspondence about the historic car. Continued on Page Four.
A 17 year old girl forged a $280 check to fund Christmas shopping. The victim, Mrs. Cecil Gocal of Union City, reported the missing check in November. Trooper Edward Pass said the girl used mail from Rubber Workers Federal Credit Association in Erie to cash the check. She admitted taking the mail on November 9th and cashing it, and was charged with forgery and released to her parents.
In Santa Monica California a five year old girl Elizabeth Marie Van Denburgh died after her father Eugene K Van Denburgh fired a gun to shoot a tangerine from her head The girl challenged her father and stood about 15 feet from a wooden fence when the shot misfired Police said the father was bending over the girl at the scene hours after the incident at dawn.
Gemini 7, on its 14 day flight with Frank Borman and James Lovell, nears a planned rendezvous with Gemini 6 as NASA prepares a Titan 2 launch to chase the 100000 mile target. The meeting is set for Sunday with the two crews to exchange waves and photos.
In Warren a four month old boy died at Warren General Hospital from a blood clot under the scalp after a puncture wound. Dr. Donald L. Furman testified the injuries could have been caused by more than one blow and noted other marks including an ear abrasion bruise above the eye and a pinch impression on the clavicle. The inquest continues with evidence about possible parental ill treatment.
Two 16 year olds sustained minor injuries when a car driven by Louis Morris blinded by oncoming high beam lights ran off Route 6 near the Irish hatchery curve, struck a tree and a utility pole. Passenger was David Wingard. Both treated at Corry Memorial Hospital for lacerations and bruises.

C Conrad Monroe of Marine Bank and Citizens Corry Office notes coins scarce as vending and public needs rise, prompting a grassroots Erie County bankers association push to release stockpiled coins before 1966 and to press federal authorities for relief. The shortage spans five years, with banks often unable to meet customer demand and coins leaking to vending machines in local industry.
