Shipment For Belgians Sent From Here

Late yesterday a 2680 pound consignment for Belgian relief departed with condensed milk clothing provisions and canned goods. The shipment to the Belgian Relief Committee in New York was organized by the Methodist Church Society with public support totaling 40.68 dollars in cash and over five hundred dollars in value.

Oil Liner Vectra Fire Kills 33 Crew Members

London reports the oil steamer Vectra bound for Barrow from Mexico caught fire early this morning near Wainey Island. Thirty-four veterans of the crew were lost, two severely burned men were saved, leaving only the two survivors from the thirty-six aboard.
