A United Press dispatch from Henry Wood describes harsh conditions for foreigners in Constantinople Turkey. Women and children may leave. men able to bear arms face imprisonment. Press access is restricted and assets are confiscated. Banks factories and hotels reportedly shut or seized.
After a conference with the International Executive Officers of United Mine Workers of America President John Mc Lennin of District No 15 announced at noon today that a resolution would be offered to the special convention of Colorado miners taking action to declare the strike off.
President Wilson told Representative Gardner he opposed Gardner's plan for an inquiry into preparedness of the United States for war. Notable attendees from away included Mrs Md Dushatte of OweKa New York, Webber's daughter.

United Press reports the U S Supreme Court refused to grant a review of Leo Frank's murder case in Georgia. Frank, convicted of killing a young girl, now awaits a possible sentence. The decision ends his ultimate appeal through the governor of Georgia. Nina Crow left for Valparaiso to pursue university studies, accompanied by her sons James and Phillip.
Former Lehigh High School graduates in the city for holidays plan multiple class banquets on December 28. Classes 1909 1910 1914 and others will dine at homes or elsewhere then join a reception and dancing party at Knight of Pythias Hall. Active members are organizing events hoping many recent graduates attend.
United Press dispatch from Washington reports Secretary of the Treasury McAdoo presenting a Treasury estimate to Congress for the fiscal year starting July 15, 1915. The total budget is 1,090, 75, 84, about four million dollars less than the current year. Rivers and Harbors items were cut by fifty five million, including an 80,000 harbor store item in Pennsylvania.
