Heavy selling as stocks drop on Wall Street
New York city traders greeted Congress adjournment with one of the year’s heaviest selling moves. Prices fell across sectors, especially war stocks, with losses up to five points and 80 percent offerings at times. Closing prices included American Car and Foundry 6.4, American Locomotive, Bethlehem Steel, General Motors, Chrysler 4.22, and Continental Can among others. A station in Waynesville, Missouri is noted for superb service after Rev Harris’ wedding stunt at the gas station. Memphis loses cotton trade prestige. Memphis Cotton Exchange reports it remains the largest inland cotton market but has slipped in world rankings.
