Butler Bandits Quell Penns Prison Riot Showdown Near Relief

Three men linked to a $50,000 Butler mail robbery fired on a police car during a high speed escape in a sedan with mixed plates. Witnesses say the robbery lasted about three minutes as a bandit forced driver Mrs Lackey to the floor, but only small denominations were taken from the mail truck. Rioting at Graterford Prison Subdued by Troopers

Rioting convicts at Graterford State Prison in Pennsylvania caused extensive damage to machinery and buildings. About forty state troopers and twenty patrolmen enforced order with submachine guns and gas bombs as fires burned temporary barracks and the area was smoke filled.

Rain Making Experiment Aims To Create Precipitation Over Texas

In Dallas Aug 25 two Texans, chemist James Boze and aviator Wilfred Bottenfield, prepared to launch a government sanctioned rain making campaign. Union City Man Hurt in Canadohta Lake Cavein
