In Moscow the space twins Maj. Andria Nikolayev and Lt. Col. Pavel Popovich were welcomed by Premier Khrushchev after returning from a four and three day spaceflight respectively. Cosmos 8, an unmanned satellite with scientific gear, was launched as part of a planned series exploring radiation and hazards of extended space travel.
Citizens National Bank of Corry and National Bank of Corry introduce the Higher Education Loan Plan. Eligible students who have completed freshman year may borrow up to 1000 dollars per year, up to 3000 dollars total, with repayment starting five months after graduation. The program, endorsed by state associations, is guaranteed by United Student Aid Funds of Indianapolis and available through participating commercial banks.

A Burrang-A Jimonihold Town of Tonawanda boy around two years old was electrocuted yesterday after grabbing a television back or charged area while he stood with one foot on a steel grate near a hot air furnace. David Peterson died on arrival at Kentjore Mercy Hospital. he was the son of Mr and Mrs Ingo Peterson. A 14 year old babysitter Ann Freein told police the boy apparently touched a live part of the TV.
In Cairo Illinois six Black men and one white woman were wounded in a racial flare at a roller rink linked to integration protests. Key figures include Charles Koent7, head of the Cairo SNCC chapter, and Linda Perlstein of Chicago. Koent was treated for a head wound, Perlstein for multiple head injuries, others sustained cuts and bruises.
Berlin observers report drama as the Senate approves a satellite bill amid heated debate. Jim was left lying for nearly an hour before being carried into care, with witnesses serious about safety and procedure.
Washington AP The Senate invoked the anti filibuster rule for the first time in 35 years to pass the administration satellite measure 66 to 1. The bill sets up a private government regulated corporation to operate the U S segment of a world wide satellite network and moves to Kennedy for signature if the House agrees. A speeding car fleeing a highway patrol pursuit crashed on US 60 near Madison Worth Ohio, killing three people and injuring a fourth. Among the deceased are Spencer Bond, 8, from Ithaca New York, and Ralph Guerte Jr along with his wife Elsie from North Madison. Warren McGuire, 10, of Willard New York, a passenger, was injured.
Mellon challenges Macomb County Democratic Convention tally claiming his wife voted for him as delegate while Mrs. Hildegard Lowe was declared winner with two votes. Mellon seeks recount after official tally showed him one vote.
Harry A. Jaquith reports his eastbound car was struck at the West Frederick street crossing by a Pennsylvania Railroad work train flatcar pushed by a self propelled crane. No injuries were reported and damage to the left front of his car was noted. The crane operator’s name was not obtained.
A driver ran a red light at Hughis Corners west of Mill Village, causing a crash that sent a cat over an embankment to the edge of French Creek. State Police at Corry barracks investigated this afternoon with preliminary reports indicating no injuries.

Ronald J. Hardy of Bear Lake sustained a left eye laceration and abrasions to the elbows and right knee with possible chest injury after his car left Route 74 near Jamestown, rolled over on a wet curve.
