Andrew Sevok, 77, of RD 2 Pittsfield was driving west on Route 6 when an Ohio driver, David A. Berger of Cleveland, tried to overtake and reprimand him. A high speed chase followed, resulting in minor damage to both cars. Sevok pled guilty to reckless driving and was fined $10 plus $5 costs in Columbus.

Truck Jackknifes With Driver, 76, Kills Woman

Mrs Eleanor Trene Brandon, 37, of Slippery Rock, died yesterday in a truck car crash on Route 173 south of here. A second woman was injured when a tractor trailer driven by Bert Richardson, 76, jackknifed as the front brakes locked, swinging into the path of Brandon’s car.

A new oil well gushed in Sugar Grove on the New York Pennsylvania border producing 120 barrels daily. The well on Lawrence Sanden’s property was opened by Halliburton Co using hydro fracture. Earl H. Linn of Pittsburgh developed it, his 20th well on the property, first in years. He sees potential to reopen Venango Oil Sands as a major Pennsylvania crude source.
