A medium sized barn and granary burned at Woodworth farm near Columbus Blue Eye east of Corry yesterday afternoon. Firemen estimated the loss at five thousand dollars, including a new tractor and truck. Mrs Woodworth and a man near the rows escaped unharmed as flames spread quickly. the cause remained under investigation with insurance coverage noted.

He refused to detail the message but hinted it may seek broader security measures against sabotage and Communists and referenced the Mundt Nixon bill requiring Communist groups to register with the Justice Department. Rep Norton sponsors it in the House and the proposal is similar to the Mundt Ferguson Johnson bill in the Senate.
