The unit is adjoint to the 61st Brigade with the 28th Division and a dress rehearsal for Governor’s Day drew a large crowd. About 20 000 were expected to witness the review tomorrow. Firing ranges work ended and troops will shorten the two week training period ahead of departure to Camp Atterbury Ind for federal service. The men will depart westward on or about September 1.
Local Red Cross urges donors for next Wednesday Bloodmobile trip arriving at the Parish Hall Episcopal Church. Eligible healthy men and women age 18 to 65 weighing at least 110 pounds will donate. Blood collected will be shipped to Buffalo for processing and stored for hospital use, with future drives planned to build a year round supply.

An AC twin engine Marine transport plane crashed in heavy fog near Oklahoma City last night. Police cite Rowert Sherbert of 210 Maple Avenue for driving too fast for conditions after his 1950 Chevrolet sedan crashed into Merle Burrows’s car at the Galimbis intersection of Route 957 and Route 6. A baby in Burrows’s car was unharmed after a physician checked the child. Sherbert’s front end $150 damage and Burrows’s rear end $100 damage.
Harrisburg reports Pennsylvania polio cases rising 50 percent versus last year. The State Health Department notes 195 infantile paralysis cases so far this year, with 83 in 1949 for the same period, and Dr. J Moore Campbell cautions the rise is not widespread.
