A United Press report states a Great Eastern Lines bus bound from the Mast to Pittsburgh crashed off the Lincoln highway east of Greensburg after a tire blew out. Driver Edward Spain and 13 passengers were hospitalized with injuries, none in serious condition.

Frank Nalosil aged nine from Corry area suffered a fractured skull after a horse kicked him while playing near his grandparents farm. He was treated at Corry Hospital with X ray confirmation and assessed as serious. details of how the injury occurred remain unclear.

Washington Aug 5 The American Federation of Labor executive council is to meet at 2 pm to vote on punishment for the John L Lewis rebel unions after further consideration of the case. Dubinsky sat with the council and urged caution while Green and Dubinsky discussed the matter as the federation weighs possible suspensions or other penalties.
Harrisburg Aug 5 A Republican majority Senate committee of five will subpena relief workers and officials to probe claims that elections are corrupted by granting relief to in need individuals for partisan activity. The inquiry, led by Sen Mason Ow Jett, passes 25 to 21 with Democrats opposing.
