Center Street Pavement Debate Restricts Width
South Venter Street property owners pressed for a 24 foot wide pavement on the South Center Street section instead of 80 feet. City Engineer Dickson reported shade trees would not be endangered and the grade would not be excessive for a 30 foot roadway, prompting approval after an open conference. Ten Year Old Boy Injured Near Murray Store
A ten year old boy named Clarence Yingling was seriously injured yesterday near the Murray paper and pint store on West Spring Street. While climbing a wagon wheel he caught his foot in a spoke as horses started, the wheel pinning the foot and causing a ragged wound between the bones. Neighbors, including Mr. Murray, carried him home for treatment.
