The Board of Education accepts Universal Scenic Studio’s bid for an asbestos curtain for the high school auditorium and grants general entertainment use. Five trustees attended led by J Love. March treasurer’s report shows a balance of 07,012.1n. attendance in March recorded at 97 percent. 285 burners at the Handing 1 salon were retained for saving energy.

Spartansburg Home Destroyed by Fire Without Insurance
A bungalow owned by Mr and Mrs Harry Knight on Day support street Spartansburg was razed by fire today while the Knight family were away. Loss estimated between 1500 and 2000 dollars with no insurance. Fire believed caused by gas pressure surge from a stove range after a windstorm. Neighbors saw smoke and flames, thwarting any rescue. The wind drove flames from the kitchen and threatened nearby properties including a Tauber residence and a hay barn until firemen gained control. The Knight family may move into the adjoining house.
