More than a million Pennsylvania anglers helped inaugurate the 1977 trout season with about 5,000 crowds at Wissahickon Creek in Philadelphia. Despite 10,000 stocked fish, sunny weather kept catches light as anglers worked baits from corn to salmon eggs, while behavior remained orderly and crowds queued for the 8 am start.
