Mr W C Ketner announced the Corry Fibre Furniture Company will close and liquidate after eleven years of national shipments and West Indies exports. The firm, started 1917, built durable woven furniture and expanded into refinishing and upholstery within fifty miles, with two plants now up for sale along with Ketner’s city properties.

City residents are urged to attend a free clinic at the Municipal building all day Wednesday. Sponsored by the Erie County Anti-Tuberculosis Society, the event will be led by Dr Da Brown of Philadelphia with nurse staff from Erie and Mrs Ward assisting. General and chest examinations offered to both adults and children at no charge.
A massive blaze following a wedding celebration at Embry Kretachatle's home near Wil emmaburg, near Altoona, killed eight people including children and elderly relatives. Firefighters struggled to reach the two story dwelling as smoke filled rooms and no fire protection was available in Bull Tour. The tragedy occurred after guests at the wedding party, held into the night, were unable to escape.
