Man Dies Under Wheels in Olean Freight Yard
April Has Frangia Layerty, a 39 year old former Pennsylvania Railroad yardmaster, attempted to board a Brie freight train at Olean near the station and was crushed by the wheels. He was taken to Higgins Memorial Hospital in critical condition with severe injuries and hemorrhagic shock. Layerty, recently cut off by his employer, left to seek work with a wife and four children, the accident occurring about 100 yards west of the station.
