In Strubenville on April 15 Angela Tamburra, 23, will be charged with murder for injuries to Captain of Police Scott Roe who died after a fight at a policeman's ball. Mayor R Conley said Tamburra admitted responsibility for Roe's injuries.
United Press dispatch from San Francisco on April 13 notes a recruiting appeal by I. J. Robinson, chairman of the entertainment committee, seeking 4,000 girls to dance with 4,000 sailors at Roseland Hall tonight. The U S battle fleet prepares off San Francisco Bay for maneuvers toward Hawaii.
In Doylestown Pennsylvania on April 13 Arthur H. Bethman 19 selected the same spot his father used two years earlier to end his life by hanging. The youth followed suit hanging himself in a barn on the Batman farm near Where. No motive could be found for the deed.
Southern Illinois gang leader Chngie Birger received a court stay to allow a sanity hearing. Birger, convicted in the Mayor Joe Adams murder and other killings, will face an insanity petition filed by his nephew. Judge Miller set the hearing for 8 a.m. Monday with a 30 hour panel.
Wilkes Barre Pa April 13 Powers Hapgood and his wife Mary Donovan Hapgood were released on charges of inciting to riot by Luzerne County Court Judge Jones. An unstated verdict of not guilty was ordered after the commonwealth finished presenting its case. They were arrested in connection with the Woody Taine feud in Pittstown weeks earlier.
Eleven coal companies in the southern Ulmnefields area with over twenty mines have aligned the Jacksonville wage agreement. Most mines closed April 1 when operators and miners failed to agree on a ware scale.
Milan reports an assassination plot against King Victor Emmanuel sparked a nationwide search. A powerful grenade bomb exploded near a lamp post in Via Espagne injuring 40, with 16 dead and 23 feared dead. Four women and three children were among victims as authorities urged total cooperation while Mussolini and officials reacted. An arrest was reported. a suspect aged about 10 was said to be involved. The incident prompted renewed royal protection and extended inquiries.

Harwichport, Mass. April 13 Lieutenant Albert Eason and Sergeant Paul Bouillard narrowly escaped injury when a National Guard plane wrecked during an attempted landing on the Harwichport golf links. The craft struck a water pipe and overturned, damaging the aircraft.
Los Angeles April 13 William Mulholland veteran construction engineer bore official responsibility for the St Francis dam disaster. Although no criminal prosecution was recommended the coroner s jury charged that Mulholland used bad judgment in the dam s construction. The collapse was attributed to inferior rock structure and faulty construction plans.
Mayor O W Bracken addressed directors of the Orly Credit Exchange urging city wide cooperation to curb peddling nuisances. He said council members would welcome Exchange suggestions and a remedial plan with merchant support. The exchange, meeting in the Barlow Block offices, reported strong progress and optimism for continued success.
In Pittsburgh on April 18, Judge W H Thomson ruled the Ku Klux Klan could not collect damages or obtain a injunction against five rebel members. The case sought $100,000 damages from each defendant and to bar use of the Klan name. Local arrivals include A C Palmer and Miss Phoebe Rayda visiting Erle Hild.
The United States, facing French opposition, proposes six major powers and other governments permanently outlaw war. A note to London Berlin Rome and Tokio is sent with a brief draft treaty pledging to condemn war as a method of settling disputes and to use pacific means only. The draft becomes effective after ratification by the six powers, with reservations possibly considered. The note asks Britain Germany Italy and Japan to assess if its commitments bar unqualified participation.

Pittsburgh April 18 The Pittshaven Coal Company plans mass vaccination against smallpox in all coal camps to prevent an outbreak. Company officials say vaccinating is underway in all bur camps though executive VP C B Lesher says there is no fear of an epidemic in mining camps.
A report states a mysterious aircraft was seen over Brocton Massachusetts with earlier sightings traced to Nova Scotia. Initial word from Bremen is lacking details. The craft is expected to reach New York later this afternoon, per late-breaking wire traffic.
