Official Board Opposes Part Mutual Betting
The Official Board of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church meeting in regular session approved a resolution opposing part mutual betting. They argue it is morally wrong even with official sanction, would not significantly benefit the state taxwise, could invite dangerous influences, and that experience shows part mutual betting is not an asset. Texas led and stopped it according to the record.

The article outlines private insurance as the remedy for political risks that hinder overseas purchases, including war outbreaks and nationalist expropriations. It notes exports rose from 1957 peaks but remain insufficient to cover a large deficit driven by rising imports and foreign aid, with a substantial dollar outflow and a decline in gold reserves since 1957.
