AP reports violent antigovernment demonstrations in Masan sparked by a police shooting. An 18 year old student was killed and three others wounded. Protests followed the recovery of a five year old boy's body from the harbor. The event occurred near election day. Demonstrators included high school students and rioters burned buildings. Masan lies about 220 miles south of Seoul.
Herbert A. Lee, 41, a machinist, died at Hamot Hospital from a head wound after firing a .22 caliber pistol at his temple in his Erie kitchen. Police say he played Russian roulette with five empty chambers and one live round, then collapsed. His wife and two sons were present, with his brother-in-law Joseph Quinn nearby. The act was described by police as accidental with no evident premeditation.

Madison Wisconsin AP Charlie Mohr a 22 year old University of Wisconsin boxer remained in critical condition after brain hemorrhage during a collegiate championship bout. Mohr from Merrick New York was rushed to a hospital after his bout with Stu Bartell of San Jose State. The fight ended after a hard right blow and Mohr collapsed minutes after leaving the ring. Hospital officials offered no prognosis. Industrialist dies Newton Mass Dr Edward Ray Spare 87 retired industrialist and long time treasurer of Boston University died Saturday.
