Jurist Says Finch Story Unrealistic
A juror in the Pinch murder trial says the jury convicted Dr. R Bernard Finch and Carole Tregoff because they did not believe either side. Mildred Brown told the Los Angeles Examiner that the doctors’ versions failed to explain the fatal shooting of Barbara Jean Finch on July 18, 1959, and that if the shooting had been accidental, the wound would have been elsewhere. The weapon remains unfound, and the couple faces possible death sentence exposure.

Sewer Group Hears Bid Review On Ejector Station Plan
The group considered readvertising for the ejector station work and bids on the Barminator. If bids fail to meet Authority approval, they may be rejected. Vankirk will review last night's bids by next week and notify the Authority. Raymond Weber said bids were so high the project might cost more than current conditions imply. He suspected misinterpretation of specifications. The ejector stations originally cost about $25,000 each.
