Body Found Ends Bizarre Halter Death Saga
Byron J. Halter a 47 year old Perry County businessman was found dead in his car eight miles east of Sunbury ending a riddle tied to a letter. Authorities say he died from carbon monoxide fumes self-inflicted after a manhunt following the slayings of his wife Betty Jane Holly Lynn and Elizabeth Swank at their Duncannon duplex.

Erie Firm Named in Pay Discrimination Suit
The U S District Court in Pittsburgh ruled against Marathon Electric Mfg Corp under the Equal Pay Act, now part of the Fair Labor Standards Act, enjoining future violations and requiring back wages of 3947.98 to nine employees alongside time and a half for overtime.
