La Jolla Players Stage Taming of the Shrew This Weekend
La Jolla Players present The Taming of the Shrew at La Jolla Playhouse tonight through Sunday at 8:30. Directors Albert and Bertha Johnson refresh the comedy with a modern-day feel and vivid sets by Evelyn Conway and Edward Burke. Local cast includes Jackson Woolley as Petruchio, John Clark as Grumio, and Joe Pinto as the shrew’s father, all drawing on regional theatre and Globe connections.
