City Hall will stay open from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at 1125 Loma Avenue to accommodate late voter registrations for Coronado's April 13 municipal election. Voters will elect two city council members a city clerk and a city treasurer and decide on bond issues for Civic Center Police Station and Library improvements plus a Hog Ranch property purchase and a straw vote on joining the State Retirement Fund.

Lt Commander John J Magda USN led a trio of jet planes to fly 600 mph from San Point Naval Air Station Seattle to North Island. Naval Air Station will return about 56 acres of land in the Lowry Annex area to the Spreckels Company on the first of the month.
