Capt and Mrs Hurst Head to San Francisco Navy Change

Capt. A. M. Hurst takes command of the President Hayes on July 1 after being detached from the 11th Naval headquarters. Mrs. Hurst stays about ten days in the north until the ship sails for Norfolk. The couple drove to San Francisco Sunday.

Departing and Arriving Chiefs Honored at Amphibious Base

A cocktail party at the Amphibious Base honored Capt. M. E. Murphy Chief of Staff and Mrs. Murphy. Capt. L. J. Hoffman was also celebrated as he relieves Capt. Murphy. The event was hosted by the Commander Amphibious Forces Pacific Fleet staff.

Admiral McIntyre Injures Ankle in San Francisco

Vice Admiral Ross T. McIntyre, visiting Coronado with Mrs. McIntyre, injured his right ankle after a fall from the speaker's platform at the American Red Cross convention in Civic Auditorium, San Francisco. He was taken to Stanford Hospital. McIntyre heads the Red Cross national blood procurement program and previously served as physician to President Roosevelt and as surgeon general of the Navy.

Holland Family Moves Into New Coronado Home

Mr and Mrs Glenn Holland and their daughter Pamela are settling into their new house at 833 I Avenue. The Hollands moved from San Diego and had lived in Coronado two years ago as they begin occupancy this week.
