Coronado Council Pushes USO Building Armory Plan
The Coronado City Council adopted a resolution at a special meeting to authorize Mayor Neal and City Manager Fuller to negotiate for securing the USO Building on the Silver Strand for use as a California National Guard armory to be formed July 10. The measure directs leasing talks for city land if needed and to inform federal and state officials and San Diego County legislators.

The Coronado Chamber of Commerce legislative committee met to study strengthening city ordinances on auction sales and peddlers’ ethics and to consult nearby municipalities about similar measures. Planning Commission To Meet Tonight

Coronado Council Appoints Two New Police Officers
At a special meeting the Coronado City Council approved two new officers to fill vacancies for full strength over the Fourth of July weekend. Walter R. Sonnenberg and Arthur R. Fox, both San Diego residents, will take their oaths and begin duty today. Sonnenberg, 39, a 23 year U S Marine Corps veteran and former firearms instructor, previously worked at Anthony Home and the county juvenile detention quarters. Fox, 34, served four years with the Illinois State Police and prior to Coronado worked at Consolidated Aircraft as a plant guard.
