Arizona author visits kin during Phoenix goodwill trip

Accompanying Phoenix businessmen on a goodwill tour were Paul Hughes, author of Retreat From Rostov and a China book, who led a radio broadcast for the group. He called his first cousin Comdr. George E. Hughes USN during a Sunday visit. Suneday afternoon hosts included C. E. Van Ness, Phoenix Chamber of Commerce president, renting the Burnham residence on Ocean Boulevard for the summer.

Rena Kenyon to Give Reading for Christ Church Auxiliary

Rena Brooks Kenyon and Fred Rigby Jr will present a dramatic reading at 8 p.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church High Auditorium under the Junior Auxiliary. Kenyon, former Coronado Players president, has 12 years of prewar reading experience. The program includes Michael and Mary by A. A. Milne.

Fashion Show at Yacht Club Aids Club Improvements

Eighty beach and swim wear costumes will be modeled by 25 models at the Coronado Yacht Club at 1 30 p m Saturday. Mrs Martha Nelson assisted by Mrs H W Hughes Mrs Charles Aten and Mrs Charles Soderberg in charge. Tea served later under Mrs Ben Seymour. Proceeds to defray interior decoration expenses completed before Memorial Day.

Murfin Hosts Farewell Dinner for Two Rear Admirals

Admiral Orin J. Murfin and Mrs Murfin hosted a farewell dinner Saturday night for Rear Admiral William Keene Harrell and Rear Admiral Frank G. Fahrion and their wives. Navy orders assign both families to duty in the east.
