The group questioned speed limit signs and discussed shrubbery removal along Orange Avenue and a Labor Day safety campaign. The council also plans study of sidewalks along a proposed new hotel road.

Cub Scouts Visit Padres Game With Kiwanis Sponsors
Ninety Coronado Cub Scouts were taken to Lane Field by Kiwanis Club sponsors of Cub Pack 35 to see the San Diego Padres. The organizing committee led by Amos Kracht Preston Primm and Pop Millar arranged further trips for the boys before the new school year, including a zoo visit midget auto races and a wrestling match.

Three Students Win Cash in VFW Essay National Contest
Local winners in the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Essay Contest were presented cash awards by Mrs. Peggy Schneider, Essay chairman.
