Coronado's Own National Guard Battery Activated
The Adjutant General will activate Coronado's Battery B anti aircraft unit of the California National Guard tomorrow. Col. Bryant Kearney, commanding the 780th Anti Aircraft Battalion, says the cadre of 210 includes 200 Coronado men and ten from the South Bay. Federal recognition is aimed for mid next month after summer camp duty near San Luis Obispo. The cadre will grow to four officers and 117 men, with armory at the San Diego Armory on Ketner Boulevard near the Coronado ferry entrance.
